Queensland Grants for Small Businesses
GRANT APPLICATIONS CLOSE MIDNIGHT MONDAY 23rd OF JANUARY 2023
You may be eligible for a single up-front fixed grant payment of $5,000 (excluding GST) for any of the following activities:
- Websites, including creating, updating or upgrading your site
- Social Media including creating, updating or upgrading your Social Media Marketing presence and strategies
- Training and coaching for websites, social media marketing or running a small business.
- Professional small business advice
- Business continuity and succession planning.

Opening date
- Stage 1: Registration of Interest (ROI) opens 24 November 2022
- Stage 2: Full application opens 12 December 2022 (selected ROI applicants only)
Closing date
- Stage 1: Registration of Interest (ROI) closes 5 December 2022
- Stage 2: Full application closes 23 January 2023 (selected ROI applicants only)

- Website build or upgrade (including website refresh)
- Adding an online store to your website
- Creating an online learning environment
- Managing online memberships
- Developing new website content

Strategic marketing services
- Strategic marketing plans including search engine optimisation advice
- Creating an email marketing funnel including the software licence
- Creating lead magnets to attract attention to your small business including podcasts, eBooks, checklists, brochures, flyers, etc.
- Creating a social media strategy for your business
- Creating online training materials

- Business plans
- Bookkeeping Health Checks
- Website Health Checks
- Social Media Health Checks

Training and coaching
- Training or coaching of up to 4 months in duration
- Mentoring in running a small business
- Mentoring in how to market your small business
- Business development, marketing, human resources or business planning topics

Business continuity and succession
- Business continuity and succession plans
- Cyber safety training and tools
Grant amount
$5,000 (excluding GST). This is paid to successful applicants up-front.
Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for this grant, your business must:
- not have been approved for funding under Round 1, 2 or 3 of the Business Basics grants program
- have fewer than 20 employees (by head count) at the time of applying for the grant
- have an active Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for GST
- have headquarters in Queensland
- have an expected turnover of $300,000 or less in the last financial year (2021–22)
- not have owners/directors that are insolvent or an undischarged bankrupt.
Your business must also maintain this eligibility for the duration of the grant funded activity.
Application process
Registrations of Interest (ROIs) open at 9am on Thursday, 24 November 2022 and close at 11.59pm, Monday 5 December 2022.
ROIs are not time sensitive and registrations can be completed anytime while the stage is open.
Not all registrations will be invited to submit a full application. You will not be able to appeal if your registration is not selected to move to Stage 2: Full application.
This grant program is competitively assessed. Not all applications will be funded.

- Decide if your business wants to apply for the grant and what you'd like to spend the funding on.
- Identify if your business meets the eligibility criteria - see above on this page for the criteria.

- Make sure you get the mandatory Statutory Declaration signed BEFORE you start your grant submission.
- Ensure you submit your grant as soon possible.

This includes:

It is intended that the grant funded activity be started, completed, and expected benefits determined by six months.
